Charles Shoemaker

Charles Shoemaker was born and reared in the Chicago area, where he was converted to Christ at the early age of eight because gospel preaching churches were focused on children’s ministry. After being called to preach at age 16, he attended the Institute of Biblical Studies of Liberty University, earning a diploma in Bible. Since that time he has earned such degrees as an Ed.D. and an M.A. from colleges and universities, including a D.D. from Midwestern Baptist College. Dr. Shoemaker has been in full-time ministry since 1975 having served as a church planter and senior pastor. He served as the Administrative Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church and President/CEO of Trinity Baptist College for 15 years. Dr. Shoemaker travels extensively speaking in churches and pastors' conferences, taking him to all fifty states and 15 foreign mission fields. Dr. Shoemaker currently serves as the President of Church Planting America--a missions agency promoting church planting in the United States and throughout the world. He and his wife, Sharon, have been married for 45 years and reside in Jacksonville, Florida. They have two daughters, Amy and Emily; two sons-in-law, Dennis and Michael (all in full-time ministry); two grandsons, Charles and Daniel, and four granddaughters, Michaela, Sophia, Ella Grace, and Kate Marie.

Brother Mike was raised in Seattle, WA. A trumpet player from an early age he attended Bob Jones University where he received his Bachelor's in Music Education. More importantly, while at Bob Jones Mike met Lori Nestor. The two were married and moved to Boston, MA so Mike could pursue work on his master's degree in Trumpet Performance at Boston University. But while Mike had been preparing to be a professional trumpet player God had different plans and called Mike into the ministry. He first served as youth pastor and song leader at his local church in East Longmeadow, MA before being called to serve as youth pastor and music pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Windsor, CT under Pastor Tom Zempel. During this time Mike earned a Master of Ministries degree from Northland Baptist Bible College. Next, Mike served under Frank Bumpus at Bethel Baptist Church in Schaumburg, IL before being called for over 17 years to serve as both a representative and staff evangelist for Bob Jones University. During his time at the University Mike traveled the United States and spoke in countless churches, camps, and retreats. Today, Mike has been called to travel as an independent evangelist and he continues to speak and play his trumpet at ministries all over the United States and around the world.
