Edward Barclay

Edward Barclay

Role: Associate Pastor - First Baptist Church of Milford

In 1998 on a mission trip to South Africa with Bob Hayes, God began to burden Edward’s heart about full-time ministry. After surrendering to this call, he began to make preparations for training at Bible college. It was also during this time that he met his wife April; they were married in 2003 and have four children, Hayley, Caden, Alayna and Everly.

Edward entered full-time ministry at First Baptist Church in Milford in 2004. His role included running the children’s ministries of the church and developing material for Master Clubs. In 2011, the Barclays left the ministry in Ohio and moved to Loveland, Colorado to plant Hope Baptist Church. This storefront church has continued to grow during these last 7 years and has enjoyed many salvations and baptisms, strong attendance, and steady growth. Before he left Hope, the church was averaging 204 per week and had a record day of 448. The Barclays have now returned to Milford where Edward is serving on the pastoral staff of First Baptist Church of Milford.

The financial picture of your church can be a blessing or a curse! Many times the overall picture is framed by the administrative plan to handle finances. Organizing how your church handles the flow of monies received and disbursed is good stewardship, and every church has a responsibility in “providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.”

Discover how you can shepherd and lead interns effectively, whether for ten weeks during the summer or for an extended twelve month program. This workshop will lead you through all the steps involved with developing interns including interviewing potential candidates (to help you find the right ones), developing a custom program for each intern to challenge him or her in areas of weakness, and holding interns accountable for their weekly responsibilities. If done right, an internship is not free labor for a church; instead, it is an opportunity for a church to truly invest in and develop future generations of effective church leaders.

Can a pastor lead his church in a biblical, Christ-honoring way, yet still be innovative in his approach to ministry? What ideas do we have to lead our churches in such a manner where we can “step outside the box” in ministry initiatives while maintaining obedience to biblical principles? We can live, work, and think in 2018 and stay within the framework of the New Testament church that began almost 2,000 year ago. We invite pastors to join us as we discuss these ideas.

You can learn how to implement the seven most essential principles influential parents always incorporate into their parenting practices. Each biblical principle will include ideas concerning how you can begin to include that principle into your own parenting practices. In addition, you will discover that each of the seven principles will be relevant to all of the parenting stages we face: infants, toddlers, children, teens, young adults, and even grandchildren.
